004 3D

Today, I watched RPG: Metanoia (and my first ever 3D movie). It shows promise, within the superficial of animation. IMSO (s stands for smart), it deserves to be the festival’s best picture. The story is real, unpretentious and cool. Not to mention it being the first Pinoy 3D movie. It is what the gaming world is, and the kids involved in this world were portrayed en pointe, only lacking the cussing the kids in computer shops utter. But that is understandable. This created a drawback though, the judges barely knew about the gaming world and the people in it.
The age and culture disparity caused it not finishing first, marking only on the milestone aspect and not on the genuineness that was crafted. And, didn’t they appreciate how Filipino the movie was?
Two points I got here. Know who will watch (or judge) your work, whether or not you’ll care about what they say. Haters gonna hate, critics gonna critique! Second point, beyond the fluffy of fantasy and deep thinking, the descendance towards simplicity, relatability and reality is a gem in filmmaking as well.
Who knows I might get into animation too.. NAAAAAT!
